Background
Fundacion Rescate (which means Rescue Foundation) started as a dream with Roberto and his family. His mom and dad (Silvana and Carlos pictured right) were already helping different kids on an informal basis. They realized the need that the children and families had within the surrounding Shuar communities of Sucúa. The Shuar are an indigenous group that lives in this part of jungle. Roberto and his family decided to start an actual non-profit foundation in the hopes that they could someday help on a larger scale, the idea being to give back to others what God had so generously given to us. Fundacion Rescate became an official legal foundation in Ecuador in August of 2012.
Vision
Our vision is to help people, generate a change in their lives, but not a change seen through the eyes of a human, but a transformation that only God can do. We want to show God’s love to those who need it in any way possible.
Mission
As children of God, we have the responsibility to go out and take the word of God to all people, showing his love toward others at all times.
Objectives
We have always been clear on the idea that if we want to start a change we need to start with those who surround us. We have defined three areas in which we can do this:

We have always been clear on the idea that if we want to start a change we need to start with those who surround us. We have defined three areas in which we can do this:
- Rescue: Children, youth, and families from vulnerable situations
- Restore: the family unit (individually and as a whole)
- Rebuild: individuals and the current/future family unit with resources to move forward in a more positive and health direction
